A lot of people had been asking me about deodorant and I finally did a video about my current protocol and how it came about. Deodorant is a hot topic for me as I endured incredible embarrassment during my long past illness, when I discovered, particularly under stress, how stinky my armpits became.
When I reviewed the video, I wasn’t going to post it. It’s too long and I saw some things in it which, in my mind, are no no’s. The reason I did post it, eventually, was I naturally revealed some insights, which surprised me.
Have you every had the opportunity to see/hear yourSelf speak? If you’re able to do so objectively, you may be surprised with what comes out of your mouth, or even the faces you pull.
I’ve learnt to slow down my thoughts when writing, and am improving at doing so when speaking. This is helping me to correct old beliefs. Slowing down and thinking before opening my mouth while doing a video is something different! This is why I review before posting and I’m discovering it’s a great tool for learning about my Self.
The insight that surprised me was where I share my experience about deodorant when I was first diagnosed and had realised deodorant was an issue. I had been thinking about my senses, not just that, but one sense in particular. My sense of smell. I had gone straight to the supermarket, as though I could find chemical free products there, and found a non-scented deodorant. I recall being rather pleased with myself thinking I had solved my problem.
It was the fact that my issue hadn’t been solved that made me delve deeper. That was when I found that companies put in masking agents to hide the scent of their deodorants, in effect, adding more chemicals into the mix.
Hearing and seeing this awareness come out of my mouth floored me as it’s not something I have consciously thought about. Now, I’m acutely aware of chemicals, both positive and negative, and how they impact upon the entire body.
Nothing about us is in isolation.
I’ll leave you with that thought, and some questions to get you thinking, because I feel myself about to go on a long ramble 😉
Till next time!
Many people are uncomfortable hearing and seeing themselves. Why do you think this is?
Have you ever been surprised by something you said?
Have you ever listened to yourself? Do you hear what comes out of your mouth?
Do you hear your thoughts? Sometimes I just want to shut mine off 😉
What do you think about my comment “Nothing about us is in isolation.” ?
